Support Athletics

In the fall of 2021, our football team turned their season around, roaring through the end of the season to earn a bid in a nationally televised bowl game. Aside from the wins we enjoyed on the path to that comeback season’s bowl bid, the exposure we gained as an institution was a huge win for our program and the awareness of ODU overall. As we make the transition from a regional powerhouse to a national player, we require $120 million in philanthropic support.

To Step Up Our Game

The landscape of college athletics has shifted dramatically in recent years, so we’re excited to be moving to the SunBelt Conference in order to find the best competition for our program and the greatest exposure for our institution. 

To gain a competitive edge in athletics, we’re looking to deliver $60 million in athletic scholarships to recruit the best talent and offer them the very best facilities possible. 

Priorities include expanding and upgrading our 40-year-old baseball stadium to provide our program with a first-class experience for athletes and fans and an opportunity to host NCAA and conference tournaments — bringing media attention to our campus and generating economic activity for our community.

Monetary contributions are essential, but there are several other ways anyone can support this campaign for ODU’s future. Donations of time, resources, know-how, mentorship, internships, and introductions for our students and graduates are all ways you can support ODU. Along with even the smallest of donations, these efforts continue building positive momentum for our future.
